AOD-9604 description
AOD-9604 (Anti-Obesity Drug-9604) is a synthetic peptide that represents a short modified portion of the amino acid chain of human growth hormone (hGH), a region consisting of its amino acids at positions 177-191 at C-terminus. Scientists have found that this area of hGH molecule is responsible for strongly promoting fat burning, but at the same time, unlike complete human growth hormone, it does not stimulate the production of IGF-1 (Insulin-like Growth Factor 1) and does not have a significant effect on insulin levels.
Clinical trials and AOD-9604 results
Clinical studies confirm, in both humans and animals, AOD-9604 significantly stimulates Lipolysis (the breakdown or destruction of fat) and at the same time inhibits Lipogenesis (the transformation of food into body fat). AOD-9604 mimics the natural way in which human growth hormone regulates body fat loss, but without undesirable side effects on blood sugar, insulin levels or cell proliferation. Recent findings have shown that AOD 9604 has, in addition to its strong lipid degrading properties, also some other positive effects of growth hormone: AOD-9604 also supports repair and regeneration of cartilage and bone, and can help in diseases and health problems such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, hypercholesterolemia, worn cartilages or bone damage.
AOD-9604 history
Obesity is associated with health risks including heart disease, stroke, hypertension, angina and certain cancers. AOD-9604 was discovered by Researcher Professor Frank Ng of Monash University in Australia in the 1990s, in an effort to develop an anti-obesity drug that would have the effects of burning fat as hGH does have, but without its other (side) effects. In 2003, AOD-9604 became a patent of Metabolic Pharmaceuticals Limited in Australia. Its primary pharmaceutical function was to treat obesity by accelerating fat burning.
AOD-9604 has undergone rigorous scientific testing and experiments in obese mouse models have been successful when it was shown that the use of AOD-6904 resulted in efficient metabolism, loss of extra fat, improved lipolysis and high plasma glycerol. Between 2001 and 2007, Metabolic Pharmaceuticals actively studied the efficacy of this peptide in humans. During this period, more than 900 subjects were involved in AOD 9604 clinical research. Because the primary route of administration was oral, the drug appeared to be ineffective. AOD-9604 is currently being studied also as a medicine that could have the potential to repair cartilages, muscles and joints and could be useful in the treatment of diseases and health problems such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, hypercholesterolemia, worn cartilages or bone damage.
Scientifically investigated possible benefits of AOD-9604
-
- Strongly promoting fat burning without any side effects
- Stimulates lipolysis and simultaneously inhibits lipogenesis
- Does not induce changes in glucose levels and tolerance, insulin sensitivity or IGF-1 levels
- Triggers fat release from obese fat cells predominantly more than lean ones
- Supports repair and regeneration of cartilages and bones
- Can help in diseases and health problems such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, hypercholesterolemia, worn cartilages or bone damage
- Increases energy levels
AOD-9604 possible side-effects
AOD 9604 displayed a very good safety and tolerability profile, without any significant side, undesirable or toxic effects. However, sensitive people may experience mild side effects such as:
-
- Reactions such as pain, swelling, or reddening at the injection site
- Headaches or Hypersomnia (excessive sleeping)
AOD-9604 peptide FAQ
What is AOD-9604?
AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide that represents a short modified portion of the amino acid chain of human growth hormone (hGH), that significantly stimulates Lipolysis (the breakdown or destruction of fat) and inhibits Lipogenesis (the transformation of food into body fat).
What does AOD-9604 do?
It promotes excessive fat burning but does not affect glucose levels and tolerance, insulin sensitivity or IGF-1 levels.
What is AOD-6904 used for?
AOD-9604 was discovered by Professor Frank Ng in an effort to develop an anti-obesity drug. The primary purpose of its use is to treat obesity.
Does AOD-9604 affect IGF-1 or glucose levels?
AOD-9604 does not induce changes in glucose levels and tolerance, insulin sensitivity or IGF-1 levels.
AOD-9604 dosage
In the scientific studies and clinical trials performed, the optimal dose of AOD-9604 is often reported as 200-300 mcg 2-3 times per day.
AOD-9604 conclusion
Peptide AOD-9604 is short part of human growth hormone molecule, responsible for the fat burning effects of hGH. It stimulates lipolysis (the breakdown or destruction of fat) and inhibits lipogenesis (the transformation of non-fat food materials into body fat). AOD-9604 is able to mimic way in which human growth hormone helps to burn body fat, but without undesirable side effects on blood sugar, insulin levels or cell proliferation. AOD-9604 is currently being studied also as a peptide that could help to repair cartilages, muscles, bones and joints and could be useful in the treatment of diseases such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis or hypercholesterolemia. AOD-9604 haves a very good safety and tolerability profile, without any significant side effects.
