Everyday Miracle Donors
Our vision for the future is rooted in the belief that although HIV/AIDS may not be cured in the near future, for many it can become a manageable chronic illness. Based on this belief, we continually strive to expand our physical and financial capacity to adapt to the changing needs and demographics of a profoundly impacted population of men, women, and children in our community. One Houstonian is infected with HIV every eight hours. We cannot afford to become complacent about the spread of HIV/AIDS in our community.
Currently, all of our programs are operating at or very near capacity. Our strategic plan focuses on developing new partnerships and aggressively exploring opportunities to increase our capacity and expand our services over the next several years. Our history demonstrates our ability to maintain highly efficient usage of our current program capacities while continually reaching significant numbers of new clients each year.
Currently, our private funding comes from foundations (approximately 10%), individuals (approximately 3%), special events (approximately 6%), faith-based organizations (approximately 1%), and other sources (approximately 1%). These funds augment the federal, state, and local governmental grants that constitute approximately 79% of our budget, enabling Bering Omega to meet the needs of thousands of men and women living with AIDS since 1986.
In 2013, the unyielding generosity of the community was astounding. We offer our thanks to each of you who helped to create Everyday Miracles for our clients.
